Dogs Running at Large
If you are a resident of the Town of Florence, it is your responsibility to ensure that your dog is properly managed and cared for at all times. The town has strict regulations in place to protect the safety and well-being of both your dog and the community as a whole.
Under no circumstances should a dog owned by you be allowed to roam freely in the town, as this jeopardizes their safety and may also pose a threat to others. Additionally, all dogs must be properly tagged at all times, as this allows authorities to easily identify the owner and ensure that their dog is up-to-date on vaccinations and licensing.
Abandoning a dog in the town is not only cruel, but it is also a violation of the law. If, for any reason, you are unable to care for your dog, there are resources available to help you find a new home for them. It is never acceptable to simply leave your dog in the town to fend for themselves.
To ensure that you are fully informed on the regulations and expectations for dog ownership in the Town of Florence, it is highly recommended that you download and review the complete ordinance. This document outlines the definitions, rules and regulations, and penalties.
By following these regulations and taking proper care of your dog, you are not only protecting their well-being, but also contributing to a safe and harmonious community. Let's work together to make the Town of Florence a great place for all, including our beloved canine companions.
Pet/Animal Waste
As responsible pet owners, it is our duty to properly manage the waste that our beloved animals leave behind. This not only helps keep our public and private spaces clean, but also shows respect for our community and the environment.
It is important to note that under the current ordinance, it is mandatory for all pet owners and keepers to immediately dispose of their pet's solid waste on any property that is not their own. This applies to both public and private spaces that are not owned or possessed by the person in question.
To ensure our community remains clean and safe for all, we urge you to carefully read and abide by the definitions, rules, regulations, and penalties outlined in the complete ordinance, which is available for download by clicking on the file provided below.
We understand that properly disposing of pet waste may seem like a small task, but it can make a big difference in maintaining a healthy and hygienic environment for all. Let's work together and do our part to keep our community thriving.
