Equipment Policy
The Town of Florence has a strict policy regarding the use of its equipment. Under no circumstances will equipment be rented or loaned out to any company, business, or individual, with the exception being for non-profit community benefit or in the event of a major emergency. Additionally, it will be allowed in cases where other governmental agencies within the County require the use of town equipment.
Town equipment will only be operated by town employees unless approved by the Highway Foreman. The Town Personnel Policy, dated January 2008, states that the Highway Foreman or his designee must approve all equipment use. This approval is necessary to ensure that essential town work can still be completed.
Our priority is to ensure that the town's equipment is used for the benefit of the community and that it is operated safely and efficiently.
